Offseason conditioning at home: Line jumps build balance, quickness

By Joe Frollo | Posted 3/8/2016

Rhythm, balance and coordination are important skills for every athlete.

Line jumps help coaches and players focus on quality of movement with simple, quick movements.

Starting in a proper athletic position and eyes forward, have the player spring back and forth over a yard line for 10 seconds. Use the balls of the feet, first going front to back, then side to side, then finally with split feet across the line.

Speed is not essential to this drill. That will come in time. Instead, focus on proper movements and recovery. Athletes should not be out of breath in between sets.
