The Quarterback Quick Step is a footwork drill that trains QBs to operate with rhythm and balance within a 10-second window as part of a pass drop technique. Quarterbacks learn to move their feet in a crossover action over a bag within the prescribed time.
The crossover action is identical to what quarterbacks use when taking a pass drop to the setup point in order to make the throw.
While making the drop, record the number of times the feet can touch the designated side of the bag within 10 seconds. This repetitive foot action builds the lower body the muscle memory needed to perfect the pass drop mechanics.

Here are six things quarterbacks can keep in mind when practicing this drill:
Compete against the clock and with yourself for daily improvement.
Improve your number count each day.
Even if you kick or stumble over bag, always finish drill for the full 10 seconds.
Begin the drill on the throwing side of bag. Right-handed passers begin on the right side facing the timer, left-handers on the left. This starting point works the correct crossover technique.
And when QBs are looking for some extra practice, late at night in your bedroom, set your pillow on floor and time yourself in this drill for 10 seconds. This will give you an extra rep with the QB Quick Step.
