On the football field, passion and determination trump age, at least in the case of Joe Thomas Sr.
The 55-year-old walk-on is now believed to be the oldest person ever to play in a Division I college football game after he suited up for South Carolina State on Saturday in a game against Savannah State.
Thomas, the father of Green Bay Packers linebacker Joe Thomas Jr., entered the game and carried the ball for three yards:

He recorded three other rushing attempts on the day.
After the game, teammates hoisted Thomas on their shoulders:

Coincidentally, it was senior day for South Carolina State, which won 32-0.
