The rub:

Being a coach is much more than just setting up drills and providing instruction. It’s about creating an environment where athletes feel like they can aspire to lofty goals—and guiding them to achieve those goals.

For more than 30 years, Brian Billick has managed to provide his teams with motivation, life lessons and unity. He did this all by serving as a coach, teacher and leader.

Throughout his time in the NFL, Billick mastered these three roles. He understood that leadership isn’t just something that can be earned, but also learned. Billick taught his teams how to create their own opportunities, all while inspiring confidence in others.

Billick believes success is created by sets of hands, not just one pair. He’s shown this to be true by building winning teams throughout his NFL coaching career. Billick instilled the “we” mindset into all his players, ensuring that they strived toward the same goal.

For high school coaches looking to grow as a coach beyond the Xs and Os, this session is one not to miss at the 2017 USA Football National Conference at Pro Bowl.
