Being just 38 miles southwest of his own turf, Myles Nash felt right at home playing in the International Bowl VIII against Team Alberta at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas for the U.S. U-16 Select Team.
The Sachse High School (Texas) freshman made his name known on the opening kickoff with a 95-yard touchdown return, giving the U.S. a quick 7-0 lead.
“It was a blessing,” Nash, the team MVP, said afterwards. “People dream of this, so just being able to live it is a great opportunity.”
Georgia native, Blaine McAllister was also a key player in the first quarter for the US Team, taking in a 25-yard touchdown drive that tied the game at 13-13.
But that tie was short-lived as Team Alberta recovered both offensively and defensively in the remaining quarters.
Kristian Stembridge threw a 65-yard pass to Ajou Ajou, while Russel Dixon threw a 4-yard pass to Lucas Robertson, putting the game out of reach of the U.S. in the forth quarter.
