Hurricane Harvey, which has now been downgraded to a tropical depression, is finally moving out of Texas.

The southeast part of the state, which has been the direct target of Harvey for the past six days, is finally seeing the end of the storm's effects.

Harvey dumped more than 25 trillion gallons of rain in the southeast region of the state, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake.

Several Texas high school football seasons are in jeopardy.

“People say athletics is not important and right now it’s not in the big picture but it’s very important for our kids to get back to normalcy, to what’s normal to them,” said Aransas Pass coach Jay Seibert.

Several Texas high schools games are still scheduled to play this weekend. After Harvey’s destruction, many Texas residents are looking to return to normalcy, and in Texas, that means enjoying high school football.

Here are a few things to watch for as Texas high school football kicks off.

TexasHSFootball.com Game of the week is Cedar Hill vs Allen.

Allen is a 6A powerhouse, ranked No.1 in the state and No.12 nationally.

The Eagles are on a mission to get back the state title, after falling short in the state semifinals last season. However this season the Eagles have a new starting quarterback.

Junior Grant Tisdale will be leading the Eagles this season, but the Eagles’ offense looks strong as Brock Sturges, running back, and receivers Theo Wease and Carson Scheckler return.

The Eagles defense looks strong as well with several returning players. The game kicks off Friday night at 7:30 p.m. at Allen's Eagle Stadium.

Texas's Class 4A offers the best of Texas football, from dominating small town teams to big city powerhouse teams.

Pampa Harvester (Pampa, Texas) has a dominant offense returning again this season. Harvester quarterback Brandon Steward is returning. Last season, he had 41 touchdowns and 4,008 yards. Darrell Fields (1,078 receiving yards last season) is one of his favorite targets. While Pampa's offense has teams worried, their young defense is their weak spot. Only four starters are returning, but among those is linebacker Bradey Porter, who averages 15 tackles a game.

In 2A, the much-anticipated Abernathy Antelopes (Abernathy, Texas) are looking to earn back their powerhouse name. With a few rocky year seasons behind them, the Antelopes have 16 returning starters.

The Anderson (Austin) Trojans will take on rivals McCallum this evening in the annual Taco Shack Bowl. The game will take place at Park House Stadium (Austin, Texas) at 7:30 p.m. Park  House, which has a history of flooding, held up through the week, thanks in part to the efforts of the Austin high school football community. Players, parents, coaches and cheerleaders filled sandbags Friday, just before the storm hit, in an effort to save the flood-prone, 78-year-old facility.
