Shaquill and Shaquem Griffin were born a less than a minute apart, and have always been together- until recently.

The St. Petersburg (Florida) natives are now living across the country from each other. Shaquill plays for the Seattle Seahawks, while Shaquem is in his senior season at the school they both attended, University of Central Florida.

Shaquem is in the midst of a great season. He was named to four preseason watch lists for national awards: Butkus Award for the nation's best linebacker; Nagurski Trophy for Defensive Player of the Year; Bednarik Award for the best defensive player in the nation; and the Wuerffel Trophy for achievements on and off the field.

Last year, he was named American Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year and earned First Team All-Conference honors.

"I want to teach all the young guys what I know and kind of learn from my brother," Griffin said at the annual AAC football media day. "The standard is very high this season. Our team opposed to last year at this moment, we're at a whole new level. It is a much better team."

As for Shaquill, he is getting playing time in his rookie year as a Seahawk cornerback. He has racked up 26 tackles so far this season.

His teammate Richard Sherman told ESPN, "They catch a ball on him and he isn’t turning [with] his eyes wide, shocked, confused, frustrated. He just turns around next play, bang, goes out there and steps and kicks and gets back to technique and that's pretty much all you can ask for a rookie. I have not seen very many rookies in my time in the league that poised.”
