The Lyman Cowboys youth football program in Gulfport, Mississippi, received some exciting news. WOLX reported Riddell's Smarter Football equipment grant has awarded the Cowboys $10,000.
The Cowboys are one of 10 programs to receive a 2017 Smarter Football equipment grant.
This summer, Riddell Sports named Peyton Manning a brand ambassador, and among many of his responsibilities with Riddell, Manning helped review the hundreds of submitted applications.
The Lyman Cowboys are enrolled in USA Football's Heads Up Football program, which is now used by more than 7,000 youth and high school programs combined, spanning all 50 states.
Riddell Sports, an official partner of USA Football, began the Smarter Football equipment grant in 2015 and has since awarded 27 programs with grants.
