This week's #FridayNightRewind, sponsored by Tackle Tube USA, kicks off with a report from Steve Witfong of 247 Sports, who says Cartersville (Georgia) quarterback and Clemson-commit Trevor Lawrence passed former Tigers great and current Houston Texans star Deshaun Watson's career passing record of 13,077 yards, with a 22-yard touchdown Friday night:

Cartersville (9-0) continued its impressive season with a 62-0 victory over Chapel Hill, its third straight shutout. The two-time defending state champion Hurricanes are 48-1 with Lawrence at QB.
“My personal opinion, he’s the best to play the position coming out of this state,” Cartersville coach Joey King said. “I’m a little biased, but I see the work he puts in at practice every day. The game results, they speak for themselves as well.”
McKinney RB rolls for 599 yards
Senior Matt Gadek ran for 599 yards and six touchdowns on 48 carries in McKinney's wild 63-50 win over Plano East. Mitch Stephens of MaxPreps.com says Gadek's total broke Texas' 11-man record of 587 yards, set in 1998 by Daryl Ellis of Somerville:

The total ties the overall state mark set in a 1978 private-league game by Ruday Rudison of Marian Christian. The national record is 754 yards by John Giannantonio of Netcong (New Jersey) in 1950.
"I knew we had a chance the whole game," Gadek told the Dallas Morning News. "They couldn't stop our O-line. We just kept pounding the rock. I have the best O-line in the state. They were trying to load the box and we just ran some quick slants on them."

Homecoming queen kicks game-winner
In Texas, Ted Dunham of the Houston Chronicle reports Dawson topped Pearland 38-35 on a 30-yard field goal with 1:08 remaining. The kicker, Claire Jeffress, was named the school's homecoming queen just a week earlier.

Jeffress also went 5-for-5 on PATs.
"I just wanted to do what I've always done and not think of it as any big deal," Jeffress said. "My team had faith in me, and they were going to block for me, and the snap and the hold were going to be good, so I just had to do my job."
