As part of its "25 Women Changing the World" issue, People Magazine highlighted the career of Sam Rapoport. The Montreal native and former quarterback began as an NFL marketing intern in 2003, helped USA Football start female football leagues, and in 2016, became the NFL's first director of football development, with a focus on creating more opportunities for women in football.

“I would love for girls growing up in this country to believe that if they love the sport as much as I do, that they could be a part of it,” Rapoport said.

College football title game sites set

Clemson celebrating national championship

The College Football Playoff announced four upcoming sites for its national championship game:

2021: Miami-South Florida (Hard Rock Stadium, Miami Gardens, Florida)
2022: Indianapolis (Lucas Oil Stadium)
2023: Los Angeles (Los Angeles Stadium at Hollywood Park, Inglewood, California)
2024: Houston (NRG Stadium)

"When we created the playoff, we said we wanted to move the national championship game around," CFP Executive Director Bill Hancock said. "We have done that. We call it '10 in 10' — 10 different communities will have hosted the national championship game in the first 10 years of the playoff.

"Each of the four cities chosen met or exceeded our standards for selection. Each has a first-class stadium that our fans will enjoy, a great convention center, excellent hotels for teams and fans, and the communities have successful track records of hosting major events. Each city also has wonderful, supportive people who we rely on to host a successful game."

The next three CFP title games will be played at:

2018: Atlanta (Mercedes-Benz Stadium)
2019: San Francisco Bay Area (Levi's Stadium, Santa Clara, California)
2020: New Orleans (Mercedes-Benz Superdome)

Chiefs player gives local boy a gift to remember

Pete Grahoff of the Kansas City Star says when Larissa Coffie and son ZaMarion were wrapping up a trip to Oak Park Mall in Overland Park, Kansas, ZaMarion spotted some Nike Air Jordan Retro 5s, but Larissa instructed him to put them down because it was time to leave.

A fellow shopper saw ZaMarion respectfully listen to his mom, and impressed with his actions, stepped in and asked if he could buy the shoes for them. Actually, he bought those and another pair.

After Larissa posted the story on Facebook, interaction eventually led to a realization - it was Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Marcus Peters.

“I don’t believe I can put into words on how I felt,” Larissa wrote in a email to the KC Star. “Before I even really knew who it was, I was speechless. After I figured it out, that didn’t help me find any words. I am just thankful to Marcus Peters for what he did for my son. It was something he didn’t have to do, but something Marcus wanted to do. And for that I will always be grateful. We need more men like him. It really was a blessing.”

Coffie said ZaMarion called it the best experience of his life.
