While the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision and Football Championship Subdivision have some regular season action remaining, playoffs for Division II, Division III and NAIA get underway this week.

With blowouts in consecutive title games over Shepherd (West Virginia) and North Alabama, Northwest Misssouri State is the two-time defending D-II national champion.

Mary Hardin-Baylor (Texas) broke Wisconsin-Whitewater and Mount Union (Ohio)'s combined 11-year hold on the D-III crown last season, with a 10-7 victory over Wisconsin-Oshkosh in the Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl.

St. Francis (Indiana) won its first NAIA championship in 2016 with a 38-17 triumph over Baker (Kansas). It was a long time coming for the Cougars, who lost in three straight title contests from 2004-06.
