High school defensive lineman’s quick thinking snags spike attempt for interception

Odell Beckham Jr., take a seat. You’ve got nothing on Brian Zahn, who pulled off a feat this past weekend that no one around USA Football’s offices had heard before.

As the opposing team lined up to spike the ball and stop the clock near the end of the first half, Zahn, a 6-foot, 200-pound defensive tackle, at Gillett (Wis.) High School shot the A gap and caught the spike before it hit the ground.

Zahn timed the snap perfectly, avoided a cut block and sold out on a dive to get his hands underneath the ball.

Check it out.
