On this episode of Coach and Coordinator podcast, former NFL general manager and coach Michael Lombardi shares stories of his experience with iconic coaches Bill Walsh and Bill Belichick and the Raiders late owner Al Davis. Lombardi shares insights into the coaching profession, which he learned from the best to ever coach the game. All of these are detailed in his book, “Gridiron Genius: A Master Class in Winning Championships and Building Dynasties in the NFL.”
Lombardi currently serves an NFL Insider for The Athletic. Since the 1980s he has been a member of front offices with the 49ers, Browns, Eagles and Raiders. From 2014-16, he was an assistant to the coaching staff of the Patriots. He’s also worked for numerous media outlets, including Sports Illustrated and The Ringer.
