The USA Football Protection Tour kicks off Sunday, June 23, in Philadelphia – the first of six stops in 2019. Presented by Riddell, the Protection Tour offers a unique opportunity for boys and girls already playing the game as well as those just starting out. The series of events delivers expert-driven football and player safety information to youth players, parents and coaches, including proper tackling techniques, concussion education and equipment fitting.
The free, three-hour, single day events at NFL stadiums and practice facilities for kids age 5 to 14 provides instruction on several components of USA Football’s Heads Up Football Program, incorporates non-contact, age-appropriate drills aligned with the Football Development Model and gives kids the chance to meet NFL players and mascots.
Additionally, Riddell offers an interactive session to teach players, parents and coaches how to properly fit an athlete’s helmet, so if you have a helmet – bring it. If not, a Riddell representative will still fit you for one and send you home with measurements to share with your league for the upcoming season.
