In the summer of 2020, USA Football will host a national flag football championship titled, “The One.”

Being held July 24-26, 2020 at Grand Park Sports Campus in Westfield, Ind., The One will be among America’s largest youth and adult flag tournaments, drawing teams from a national series of sanctioned tournaments and at-large entrants. This also marks the first time in USA Football’s 18-year history that it will sanction flag tournaments nationwide.

The One will feature 15 divisions from age seven to adult, with each team guaranteed to play a minimum of four games. The divisions are as follows:

  • 5v5: 9U Coed, 11U Coed, 13U Boys, 13U Girls, 15U Boys, 15U Girls, 17U Boys, 17U Girls
  • 7v7: 13U Boys, 15U Boys
  • 5v5: Men’s Competitive, Men’s Recreation, Coed, Women’s
  • 4v4: Men’s

In addition to teams earning full or partial bids to The One through USA Football-sanctioned tournaments, youth and adult flag teams interested in competing in the annual championship are eligible for at-large entry and can register to participate. Both youth and adult flag football tournaments can earn USA Football sanctioning. While the number of general-sanctioned tournaments will be unlimited, eight youth and five adult tournaments will be recognized as qualifiers.

General tournaments receive:

  • Four half-price bids into USA Football’s The One
  • Location/date protection – no USA Football-sanctioned tournaments within 100 miles on the same day
  • Listed on usafootball.com and marketed to USA Football’s flag community
  • Marketing materials
  • USA Football service team support

Qualifier tournaments receive all the above plus:

  • Four fully paid bids into USA Football’s The One (these bids replace half-price bids at general-sanctioned tournaments)
  • Wider tournament protection – no USA Football-sanctioned tournaments within 200 miles within a week
  • Marketing and sales support include ads placed and paid for by USA Football
  • A tournament-dedicated USA Football staff consultant pre-event and onsite
