The U.S. National Football Team has numerous high-profile alumni in the professional and college ranks. Among the program’s newest and brightest alumni is Oklahoma State quarterback Spencer Sanders.
Sanders, a graduate of Denton (Texas) Ryan High School, was part of the 2018 U.S. Under-19 National Team in International Bowl IX at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
Sanders led the Red, White and Blue to a 47-7 victory over Team Canada. His steady and confident stat line (13-20 passing, 181 yards) earned him the game’s MVP honor.
Sanders’ success has followed him to Stillwater, Oklahoma. After redshirting his first year on campus, he had a historic 2019 season, leading the Cowboys to a 7-3 record before being sidelined with a thumb injury.
Sanders was named the Big 12’s Offensive Freshman of the Year last season by the conference’s coaches and broke a school record for most passing yards by a freshman with 2,065.
