The drive-catch progression has been my teaching cue for an offensive lineman’s lower body mechanics in the run and pass game for years.
This process is the exact opposite of the “step” many offensive linemen are taught from an early age as the drive-catch concept applies to all lower body mechanics within offensive line play.
The idea is rooted in physics and biomechanics, designed to teach players how to move with power and authority as well as with the highest efficiency.
