High school football is in full swing, with every state in at least their second week of regular-season games, and powerhouse match ups are set across the country this weekend.
One of the first games to watch for this weekend is when the MaxPreps number one high school team in the country, Mater Dei (Santa Ana, California), takes on No. 21 Bergen Catholic (Oradell, New Jersey).
Mater Dei is off to a 3-0 start, and they may see the return of their best offensive player, Amon-Ra St. Brown.
St. Brown, is a 5-star wide receiver for Mater Dei, but was out with a finger injury. Last season the wide receiver had 60 receptions for 1,229 yards and 21 touchdowns.
St. Brown has caught the attention of the top college football programs from around the country, Southern California, Notre Dame, Michigan, Ohio State, Stanford, UCLA and many more but has not committed yet.
However, after Bergen Catholic fell to No. 38 Archbishop Wood (Warminster, Pa.) 27-21 last week, it’s are looking for a win against the number one team in the country.
Another top matchup to watch this weekend takes place at 7 p.m. Saturday as No. 11 De La Salle (Concord, California) plays No. 23 Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas).
The Bishop Gorman Gaels are looking to get back to their winning ways this weekend after suffering back-to-back losses for the first time in nearly a decade.
Four-star quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson, who is a hard commit to UCLA, is looking to lead the Gaels' to a win.
However, Thompson-Robinson left last week’s game, a loss to No. 15 Miami Central, because of a shoulder injury, but expect to see Thompson-Robinson on the field Saturday.
Da La Salle will utilize its three-headed rushing attack lead by Kairee Robinson, George King, and Shamar Garett, as they look to go 4-0 on the season.
Another key player for Da La Salle is defensive tackle, Tuli Letuligasenoa, who is a hard commit to Southern California.
In Indiana, Class 6A No.1 and No. 3 in the state face off. Ben Davis High School (Indianapolis) is ranked No.1 in the state and No. 21 in the country.
Ben Davis will host No.3 in the Warren Central (Indianapolis).
Warren Central, Ben Davis’ longtime rival, is hoping to knock the Giants from the undefeated ranks.
Let's take a look down in Texas.

This is a big in-state match up as The Woodlands are ranked No. 5 in the state and Katy is ranked No. 18.
This was supposed to be the third game of the season for both teams, but because of Hurricane Harvey, Friday night will be the season opener for both teams.
