Check out how these National Team alums fared in the NFL

Former U.S. National Team players continue to make their marks for their respective NFL teams. Here’s a look at how a few of them performed during last weekend’s games.

Tyrann Mathieu, Arizona Cardinals

Tyrann Mathieu has been named USA Football's NFL Player of the week.

Mathieu, a safety, was a member of the 2010 U.S. National Team. He helped the United States to a 17-0 win in the 2010 International Bowl.

During Sunday's game against the Indianapolis Colts, the two teams matched up in overtime. On the first play in overtime, Colts quarterback Jacoby Brissett through a short pass over the middle, but Mathieu intercepted the ball and returned it 15 yards. After a few more offensive plays, the Cardinals kicked a field goal to win, 16-13.

Along with Mathieu’s interception, he compiled three tackles and two passes defended.

Jameis Winston, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

After Tampa Bay's first game of the season was rescheduled due to Hurricane Irma, the Buccaneers played their opener Sunday against the Chicago Bears.

Winston was a member of the 2012 U.S National Team.

During Sunday's game, Winston completed 18 of 30 passes for 204 yards and one rushing attempt for three yards, in the Buccaneers' 29-7 victory over the Bears.

Samaje Perine, Washington Redskins

Perine played for the U.S. U-19 National Team in 2014 and helped lead the team to victory in the 2014 International Bowl.

Sunday was Perine’s NFL debut. He had 21 rushing attempts for 67 yards.

Ty Montgomery, Green Bay Packers

Montgomery was last week’s USA Football's NFL Player of the Week.

In Week 2, the 2011 U.S. National Team alum had 10 rushing attempts for 35 yards, six receptions for 75 yards and one touchdown.
