As teams and fans gear up for this weekend’s high school football action, let's take a look at some of the top high school football games across the country.

New Jersey currently has 43 undefeated high school football teams.

New Jersey is reaching the halfway point in its high school football season, and nj.com reported that 22 of the 23 sections throughout the state have at least one undefeated team still remaining.

Two teams that are looking to hold onto their perfect records will match up Friday night.

The Manalapan Braves (Englishtown) will host the Howell Rebels (Farmingdale)

The Braves’ Luke Corcione, senior quarterback, has completed 60 percent of his passes, has thrown for 600 yards and quarterback rating of 106.6, according to MaxPreps

Running back Naim Mayfield plays alongside Corcione. Mayfield has rushed for 1,135 yards and has scored 19 touchdowns this season.

Expect the Rebels to try and stop Mayfield's run game, and you can expect their dynamic offensive duo, quarterback Eddie Morales and wide receiver Naseim Brantley, to put up some points.

Heading south, there is a big matchup set to take place between MaxPreps No. 4 ranked team American Heritage (Plantation, Florida) vs. Cardinal Gibbons (Fort Lauderdale, Florida).

Both teams will enter Friday night’s game undefeated and American Heritage Patriots head coach Patrick Surtain is hoping for a win.

Surtain, a former Miami Dolphins cornerback, has yet to lose a game since being named the Patriots head coach last season.

The Patriots’ wide receiver, Anthony Schwartz, has been ranked a four-star recruit by 247Sports and is fielding offers from Florida, Auburn, and Alabama. Cornerback, Patrick Surtain Jr. is a five-star recruit who is receiving offers from Florida State, LSU, Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State and many more.

Dual-threat quarterback Nik Scalzo, who has an offer from Illinois, and 247Sports three-star wide receiver Carlos Sandy, who has committed to Illinois, led the Cardinal Gibbons Chiefs.

In the Midwest, Pickerington Central vs. Pickerington North battle for first place in the Ohio Capital League.

Demeatric Crenshaw, a dual-threat quarterback with an offer from Kentucky, and Trenton Gillison as 247Sport four-star tight end, who has committed to Michigan State, led the Pickerington Central Tigers.

The Pickerington North Panthers have Alex Williams, defensive end, who has committed to West Virginia, and cornerback, Tyler Potts who has committed to Ball State.

Two California powerhouses and nationally ranked teams are set to match up Friday night.

MaxPreps No.1 nationally ranked Mater Dei (Santa Ana) is set to face off against No. 5 St. John Bosco (Bellflower).

During last week's 42-21 victory over Orange Lutheran, the St. John Bosco Braves used a two-quarterback system.

However, quarterback Re-al Mitchell, who is a committed to Iowa State, will sit out this game due to an undisclosed injury, according to the Los Angeles Times. DJ Uiagalelei, who has offers from USC, Alabama, Arizona State and several more, will get his first varsity start.

No.1 powerhouse Mater Dei offense is loaded.  Wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown has caught the attention of the top college football programs from around the country, including Southern California, Notre Dame, Michigan, Ohio State, Stanford, UCLA and many more, but has not committed yet.

Mater Dei five-star quarterback JT Daniels has committed to USC and is MaxPreps’ second-ranked quarterback in the nation.

Another game you can watch through Facebook LiveStream is MaxPreps No. 8 national ranked Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas) Gaels vs. Desert Oasis Diamondbacks (Las Vegas).
