Caleb Bluiett’s inspiring football career is a prime example of what young athletes look up to today. From the International Bowl to the University of Texas to the Jacksonville Jaguars, Bluiett’s skill sets continue to impress.

Bluiett was a defensive end on the 2012 U-19 U.S. National Team that competed in the International Bowl against Canada.

“International Bowl was very fun. It gave me the chance to interact and learn from others,” Bluiett said. “It also helped me understand that there are others out there who want to sharpen their skills, too.”

The National Team helped prepare Bluiett for college in many ways. “It helped me understand how different individuals think and play from other places around the nation and world,” Bluiett said. “It helped me better my game. I learned what I had to do in certain situations to succeed.”

After the International Bowl, Bluiett went on to play collegiately at Texas, where he played defensive end and tight end. “Playing for the University of Texas was a great experience,” Bluiett said. “It taught me about life, and it also helped me learn to balance the highs and lows that come with life. It taught me to accept change.”

The biggest thing that helped Bluiett transition from high school to college ball was that he redshirted his freshmen year.

Bluiett will never forget winning the Red River Showdown against Oklahoma as a Longhorn. His touchdown was the seven-point difference for the win.

After graduating from Texas, Bluiett signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars as an unrestricted free agent. He has recently been released, but is waiting for a call at any moment. In the meantime, Bluiett is pursuing other dreams of his. “From afar, I am working with some business partners of mine in Austin, Texas on our company Elite Sweets,” said Bluiett. “We have a delicious gluten-free protein doughnut.”

For all athletes who want to play college ball and have NFL aspirations, Bluiett has some advice. “Never quit, no matter what. God has a plan for you and your life. Just stay true to who you are and lay it all on the field. Leave no doubt.”
