From now through kickoff at USA Football's 2018 National Conference at Pro Bowl, we will take a look at some of the notable speakers and sessions on the docket for one of the country’s largest gatherings of high school football coaches.

Name: Wendy Cunney

Current role: President, New Canaan (Connecticut) Youth Football

Session date, time: Cunney will be the featured speaker for the “Growing the Game in Your Community” session, which will be from 11:15 a.m. to noon Sunday, Jan. 28, 2018.

Her background: Before assuming her current role, Cunney ran registration and administration for the league’s board of directors, and was also the manager for two teams. Cunney has worked closely with the New Canaan High School football coach on building the program with offseason activities, tournaments, camps, and player and parent events. New Canaan Youth Football increased participation by 7 percent since she assumed her role as president, and it remains one of the primary youth sports programs in town. Wendy has three sons who play youth football: Jack, Charlie and Henry. She lives in New Canaan with her husband and sons.
