Name: Dr. Jay Findling

His background: Dr. Findling is the Director of Emergency Readiness, Safety and Security for the New York City Department of Education. Dr. Findling is responsible for all emergency action planning throughout the city of New York. In 2010, the New York division of the FBI awarded him with the Director’s Community Leadership Award. He was recognized for his contributions to the city’s educational system, his concern for school safety, and his involvement in anti-gang education programs. He continues to be a positive influence for the youth of New York.
