National Signing Day inevitably is a bigger event at some high schools than at others, but it was a predominant event at one Texas high school last week.

At All Saints High School in Fort Worth, 10 players committed to continue their football careers in NCAA Division I. The school’s senior class consists of just 100 students.

For comparison’s sake, according to the NCAA, just 6.8 percent of high school seniors in all sports move from high school athletics to the NCAA level. Ten percent of All Saints’ senior class has signed to play D-I football next season.

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports the signing class includes Jaylon Robinson and Jax Wilson (Oklahoma), Shaun Taylor (Oklahoma State), Brendan Harmon and Andrew Bird (Rice), Grayson Mann (Northwestern), Luke Brockermeyer (Texas), John Paul Flores (Dartmouth), Kole Pannell (Air Force) and Jalen “J.C.” Rispress (SMU).

“When you think about Fort Worth recruiting, All Saints isn’t the first place most bring up first,” Damon Sayles, who covers recruiting for 247sports, told the Star-Telegram. “But you look at Jaylon Robinson, you look at Brendan Harmon, you look at Grayson Mann … there’s talent all over the place on that football team. All Saints may be one of the best-kept secrets in Texas.”

All 10 players aren’t on Division I full-ride scholarships, the article said. A few had offers elsewhere, but decided to join their listed teams as preferred walk-ons.

In 2017, All Saints (11-1) advanced to the TAPPS D1 semifinals before losing to eventual state champion Prestonwood Christian, 55-48.

All Saints might not be done contributing to the college football talent pool this season. Saints coach Aaron Beck, said he anticipates four more players making commitments before the school year ends.

“I think if any school gets five players going on to the next level, that’s pretty unique,” Beck said.
