Female football players from across the United States and the globe flocked to the New Orleans Saints practice facility Feb. 21-25 for the fifth annual Women's World Games, sponsored by USA Football.
The Games originally spawned from the 2013 International Federation of American Football (IFAF) Women’s World Championships in Finland, when Samantha Rapoport – then with USA Football, and now the NFL’s director of football development – envisioned an event to raise the level of women’s football worldwide.
American Football International reports more than 80 athletes with varying levels of experience showed up for four days of skill development and competition, led by Jim Farrell, the head coach for the event since its inception.

Among those aiding Farrell were two women with NFL internship experience – Stephanie Balochko (Pittsburgh Steelers) and Collette Smith (New York Jets).
While most attendees came from the U.S., other countries were represented as well, including 16 athletes from Sweden.

Hard work throughout the week paid off.
So very proud of this woman here. Her goal on Wednesday was to be able to kick a 30 yard field goal. Today she achieve that goal #WWFG5 pic.twitter.com/g97Exc6LD8
