Shaquem Griffin keeps making history, and his brother has been there every step of the way. That won’t change this fall.
Meanwhile, Wyatt Teller will join another U.S. National Team alum as fellow rookies with the Buffalo Bills, and Justin Jackson became the fifth and final National Team alum to be selected in this year's draft when the Los Angeles Chargers called his name in the seventh round.
Kamryn Pettway, also a 2014 National Team alum, wasn't drafted, but according to (Minneapolis) Star Tribune Vikings beat writer Ben Goessling, the Minnesota Vikings signed him as a free agent Saturday after the draft ended.
In all, 34 National Team alums have now been selected in the NFL Draft, dating back to 2012.

Griffin, a 2013 U.S. National Team alum who had his left hand amputated at age 4, fulfilled a dream this afternoon when the Seattle Seahawks selected him in the fifth round of the 2018 NFL Draft.

Teller, Griffin's teammate on the 2013 National Team and a Virginia Tech guard, was also taken in the fifth round. The Bills selected him as the 166th overall pick, one day after they took 2014 National Team alum Harrison Phillips in the third round.

Griffin’s twin brother, Shaquill, also a 2013 National Team player, just completed his rookie season with the Seahawks. The two were also teammates at the University of Central Florida and at Lakewood (Florida) High School.
Griffin is the first one-handed player to be drafted in the NFL in the modern era. He was born with amniotic band syndrome, a prenatal condition that renders a hand useless.
Despite that condition, he persevered, and played well enough at UCF to be named American Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year as a junior in 2016, and Peach Bowl Defensive MVP last season in the Golden Knights’ 34-27 win over Auburn.
Griffin talked about what the moment would be like leading up to his selection:
Then, when it happened, here was his reaction:

Wow. Chills. God is so good! Great job @Seahawks

Congrats @ShaquemGriffin & @ShaquillG
Reaction throughout the NFL community was swift.
Shaquem Griffin tells ESPN after he got drafted by Seattle. "I can't breathe." That's the only time you'll hear him say he can't do something.

Shaquem Griffin’s going to be one of those dudes where three years from now, every anonymous GM is going to be saying how they were sure he was going to be a star and had a first-round grade on him

Several observers thought the Bills got a steal by selecting Teller in the fifth round.

If the #Bills got 2016 Wyatt Teller, it's one of the steals of the draft. He looked like a top 50 pick then. 2017 was ok, but he needs to get that fire back. Rd 3 grade from me

Congratulations to Wyatt Teller, who was just drafted 166th by the Buffalo #Bills. He was one of the best players, and people, I ever got the privilege to cover. Best of luck to him. #Hokies #NFLDraft pic.twitter.com/C1JKiXmTVF

Jackson, a 2014 National Team alum, was the 251st overall pick in the seventh round by the Chargers. He rushed for over 1,000 yards each of his four seasons at Northwestern, averaging 4.8 yards per carry throughout his collegiate career.

I love the selection of RB Justin Jackson to finish out the 2018 NFL Draft. He's third in Big-10 History in Rushing Yards.
