Tulane University walk-on wide receiver Brian Newman was awarded a scholarship for his senior year. He recorded the moment he shared the news with his dad over the phone and the reaction was emotional.

John Bonamego was a wide receiver walk-on at Central Michigan University before he became the current coach. Last month during an annual coaches vs. seniors softball game, the former walk-on Bonamego surprised current walk-on tight end Logan Hessbrook with a scholarship. The moment was captured on video and shared via Twitter.

Penn State coach James Franklin and Florida International University coach Butch Davis got creative in their scholarship announcements. Penn State long snapper Kyle Vasey and FIU wide receiver CJ Worton were both told they no longer needed part-time jobs.

Memphis coach Mike Norvell set up a special surprise at a local restaurant, where friends and family awaited defensive lineman Joseph "Jo Jo" Dorceus. Norvell invited Dorceus and told him the event was for community service, but was really an announcement of his full-ride scholarship. Here's a video of the surprise.
