To close out 2017, USA Football is re-publishing the 12 best podcasts of the year. This is the fifth podcast of the series. Look for the remaining seven podcasts in the coming days.

Legendary high school Coach Chuck Kyle joined me on the podcast. I have know Chuck for years, from the time I was comptemplating going to Cleveland St. Ignatius High School as an eighth-grader to my years as a seventh- and eighth-grade CYO coach where my players were considering St. Ignatius, to being a peer working in the Greater Cleveland Coaches Association with him, then later recruiting his players as a college coach.

Chuck Kyle at the core defines the word teacher.  He has a lesson plan for everything he does, and it all culminates in what happens on the field on game day.  I really enjoyed watching Chuck coach over the years as well as being able to go to the school and sit down with him and talk about his players as well as coaching.

This podcast shares great insight into what makes Chuck one of the best in the country.  I am grateful to know him and to be able to talk in detail about his philosophy on the podcast.
