Forty-nine high school student-athletes spanning 18 states have been selected for the 2018 U.S. Under-18 Select Team, USA Football announced today.
The U.S. team will compete against the UANL-Mexico team Friday at International Bowl IX at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, home of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys and college football’s Good Year Cotton Bowl. Kickoff is at 4:30 p.m. Central Time (5:30 p.m. Eastern).

International Bowl IX features 24 teams across eight nations on three continents. U.S. National Teams will compete against teams representing Canada, Japan, Mexico and the Nordic region, comprised of players and coaches from Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden. As a member of the U.S. Olympic Committee and the sport’s national governing body, USA Football manages U.S. National Teams for international competition.
All International Bowl games will be played at AT&T Stadium. Game days are Friday, Jan. 12; Wednesday, Jan. 17; and Friday, Jan. 19, each consisting of four games.

Broadcast information for all 12 games will be announced in the near future. International Bowl game tickets and details are available at internationalbowlix.org.
The head coach of the U.S. Under-18 Select Team is Vai Taua, who serves as special teams analyst at the University of Nevada. Taua was a running back for the Wolfpack and played briefly in the NFL with the Buffalo Bills and Seattle Seahawks.

U.S. National Team alumni include wide receiver Corey Coleman (Cleveland Browns), wide receiver Devin Funchess (Carolina Panthers), running back Todd Gurley (Los Angeles Rams), defensive back Tyrann Mathieu (Arizona Cardinals), offensive lineman Jack Mewhort (Indianapolis Colts), running back Samaje Perine (Washington Redskins), defensive end Stephon Tuitt (Pittsburgh Steelers) and quarterback Jameis Winston (Tampa Bay Buccaneers).
The U-19 Select roster will be announced Tuesday.
